The draw has been made for the 2018 Matchplay Trophy. See attached

Last year’s winner, John Stevenson, get’s a bye in the first round and has to face John Doughty in round 2.

The losing finalist from 20

17, Drew Lamont, has first round tie against Allan Weir.

Our Captain, Paul Murray-Smith is drawn against David Armitage in round 1.

New rules are in force this year:

Full handicap allowance . Do not play your tie at an outing . Both players must act reasonably in arranging the tie . The first named player is the challenger and should contact his opponent to propose dates and a venue to play the tie before the deadline .Failure to make such contact or failure by the player challenged to accept any such dates and/or the venue reasonably put forward may count against the player concerned and allow his opponent to be put through to the next round in order that the competition can proceed satisfactorily and keep to its schedule .
