Only a very brief shower of rain interrupted a fine summer afternoon’s round of Greensome matches on Baberton Golf Course hosted by our opponents Bruntsfield Allied Golf Club. Captain Chris led the charge in the opening game along with Tony Kelly, beating Captain David Lindgren (a former colleague of Chris) and his partner David Scott of BAGC.
The scores were levelled when Vi
ce Captain Lawrence Dickson and Harley Weston lost their game. The remaining two games were very close and both decided on the 18th green. Secretary John Williams and Martin Bryden narrowly lost their game – but Malcolm Davidson and Dylan Egelstaff won theirs by one hole. So the overall result was a Draw. As Blackford had won the Lindley Mitchell Trophy in 2021 the trophy was therefore retained.
A most enjoyable day in convivial company.
