On one of the hottest days of a Summer which has been exceptionally dry and sunny, 19 Blackford members gathered to play at Bruntsfield.
The ground was hard and dry allowing the big hitters to have a field day. As always, the winners had to play a good short game on greens which were in great  condition. Suntan cream and plenty of water to drink were the necessities for the day. Lots of members wore shorts.
At the prize-giving afterwards, Bill Hannay was erroneously promoted by Captain Chris to the prize list but on re-examination of his card this was immediately corrected and the winners were declared as follows:
Fifth place – John Matheson with 34 points (the Captain also had 34 points but a poorer inward half so came sixth)
Fourth place – Secretary John Williams with 35 points
Third Place – Malcolm Davidson with 37 points
Second place – John Stevenson with 37 points (with a better last 6 holes including a creditable birdie 3 at the last hole!)
The winner was Colin Glynne-Percy with 38 points.
Nearest the Pin: Colin Clark
Nearest the Pin in Two: John Stevenson .
Well done to our Secretary John Williams for his organisation and for procuring the turnout of 8 Bruntsfield members which resulted in a very good deal for Blackford. It was a day very much enjoyed by all members who took part.
