The last Outing of the Blackford season took place at Kilpspindie.
Somewhat fearful of the dreadful weather forecast, eighteen Blackford members made their way through very heavy rain to Kilspindie. However despite a leaden and threatening sky it remained dry throughout the round except for one heavy shower which lasted a very short duration but still required all to put on their waterproofs. All players marvelled at their good fortune after the round when reports came in that Bruntsfield had been closed earlier due to flooding (see photos).
An excellent meal was provided and afterwards the Prize Giving took place as follows:
Nearest the Pin and Nearest the Pin in Two – both won by Jack Duthie
5th place Ranald Naismith with 35 points
4th place Jack Duthie also with 35 points and better inward half
3rd place your Captain Chris Hardie with 39 points
2nd place Allan Weir also with 39 points and better inward half.
The winner was Colin Glynne-Percy with 41 points, his second win of the season.
All very well organised by Secretary John Williams.
While packing up to go home the heavens opened up with torrential rain as the sad news broke that Her Majesty The Queen had passed away.
