n an overcast and windy day which threatened showers the teams gathered in the clubhouse for drinks and snacks prior to the first tee off at 2:30pm. The format agreed between the teams was Greensomes, with strokes awarded to each team according to handicap difference within each match. The matches and results were as follows:

Match 1 Lawrence Dickson (Captain) and Colin Clark v Alan Fleming and Allan Short. Blackford won 2&1.
Match 2 Roger Mew and Colin Glynn-Percy v Bill Mattocks and. Grant Williams. Blackford won 1 up
Match 3 Jeff Preston and Iain McLaren v Gordon Brown (acting Captain) and Jim Brown. Bruntsfield Allied won 5&4.
Match 4 John Williams and Henry Robson v Nathan Brogan and Scott Casey. Match halved
Overall result: Bruntsfield Allied 1.5 Blackford 2.5.
Blackford therefore won the Lindley Mitchell Bowl, and Gordon Brown presented the trophy to the winning Captain in the clubhouse. A very enjoyable day, enjoyed by all who participated.
