AWARD of TROPHIES

The Committee meeting just prior to the AGM had discussed and reviewed in detail the policy regarding the cumulative trophies of the Club . It was recognised that the large majority of all scorecards submitted at each Outing recorded the Stableford scores only . It followed that such cards were therefore invalid for consideration in deciding who would win the Scratch and Nett Trophies at the end of the season . In essence most club members at Outings when playing a hole badly would rather pick up their ball ,move on and have a “ blot” on their card and concentrate on trying to win the Stableford – rather than delay others behind in holing out . In recognition of this the Committee instructed the Captain to state the following policy ( with some differences from past practice) to the AGM and seek their approval :-

No one individual can win more than one of the cumulative trophies per season, and the hierarchy of the cumulative trophies going forward would be :-
Calder Cup (1932 ) Best Scratch Score over the season
Majority Cup ( 1910) Best Stableford score over the season
Centenary Trophy ( 1989 ) Best Nett Score over the season
Each Outing will be assessed in these categories by allowing 5,4 ,3,2,1 points to the best five scores . The highest accumulation of points in each category over the season will decide the winner of the relevant cumulative trophy .There will no longer be a minimum number of Outings to be attended , although the greater number attended the higher chance there will be to achieve the highest total .

This policy was unanimously approved by all members present at this AGM .

CLUB CLOTHING

The Captain agreed to arrange for club clothing featuring the club logo to be produced and when available these items would be displayed on the club’s website.
