If reading about Tom Mitchell becoming an honorary member of Blackford had you wondering who else might be in that category… here’s the answer:

Our constitution limits the club to 72 playing members and currently (as usual), the list is full. Only one of that 72 is also an Honorary Member – Martin Bryden (pictured)

Martin has been a Blackford member since 2009 and in 2015 (well, actually, over the period 2013 – 2015) he did the club a great service by writing the history of Blackford Golf Club which every member has been given a copy of and for that he was awarded honorary membership.

Other Honorary Members are in the non-playing category – Bob Hay-Smith, a member since 1967 and Captain in 1982; Ken Hutchison who joined in 1975 and Captain in 1990-91 and Jimmy Rodgers who was Captain in 1997-98.

Graeme Watherston who died last year was also an Honorary member
