Blackford visited Bruntsfield for the outing and thoroughly enjoyed playing the new revised layout.
A slightly disappointing number of members (23) attended. The weather was kind and a lot of good golf was played.
Derek McGillivray produced the day’s most exciting moment when he holed in one on the 7th. It was Derek’s 4th hole-in-one but theĀ first by anybody on a Blackford outing in living memory. Derek was kind enough to provide a bottle of Glenkinchie whisky for the celebration afterwards.
The other highlight was the winning score. In only his second Blackford outing, Colin Murray returned a remarkable 43 Stableford points. As a measure of how good that was, second place was taken with 36 points.
After the golf, a lovely meal was enjoyed and Captain Paul Murray-Smith, in his summing-up, thanked Rachelle Clark and her team for their hospitality.
