A reminder to all Blackford members that there is a planned outing to Elie on Thursday June 6.
We say a planned outing to avoid sounding over-optimistic – we also planned outings to Elie in 2017 & 2018 but the weather beat us both times. In 2017 it was a monsoon of a rainstorm that made it impossible to play even though some 30 hardy souls had made their way to Elie. A good lunch was enjoyed before we all headed home, never having struck club to ball.
In 2018 it was a severe attack of wind which prevented play (on the course, we hasten to add). On this occasion we had good warning from the weatherman and were able to call the outing off on the previous evening.
So, will new Captain Matheson carry more luck with the Elie outing than did Past Captain Murray-Smith. We can only hope.
