We finally made it! 33 Blackford members took part in our outing to Elie.

After two failed attempts, in 2017 when heavy rain prevented play and in 2018 when strong winds would have blown away any attempt to play golf, we were able to enjoy the magnificent golf course at Elie. This time it was almost as though the weather gods were trying to make up for our suffering in previous years – we couldn’t have asked for better, as can clearly be seen from the photographs.

The standard of play did justice to the conditions – David Macauley took 3rd place with 38 Stableford Points and also collected the prize for the “longest drive”. The winner was David Paterson with 41 points but Allan Weir had the same score and only lost out on a back nine count-back. John Stevenson won “nearest the pin”

Afterwards, we enjoyed a fine two-course meal in the lovely club-house and our Captain, John Matheson made a point of thanking all the Elie staff who had made our outing so enjoyable.
